All About Interactome Media

We are a team of scientists and science enthusiasts who want to show the world that science is for everyone, by building a network of people sharing, listening to, and asking questions about scientific stories.

Welcome to The Interactome!

Our Story

In the early days of the pandemic, many friends and family members had questions about the coronavirus, but also about the scientific community at large. News and media outlets were overwhelmed with rapidly fluctuating information about viruses, vaccines, public safety, and other scientific topics. Because of this, many people who did not “do science” felt left behind, and an atmosphere of confusion, fear, and distrust started to create a false divide between “scientists” and “non-scientists.”

We formed Interactome Media to dispel this perceived separation by:

  1. Creating a platform for people in all realms of society to take part in the scientific conversation

  2. Demonstrating that anyone can think scientifically

  3. Making science more accessible to the online community

  4. Leveraging the power of everyone’s perspectives to solve complex scientific and societal challenges

We started off with three of us making a single five-minute video talking about what a virus is and how it works. Since then, our team has expanded to six, and we have launched a podcast, The Interactome. Stay tuned for another series, The Digest, where we break down different scientific papers.

Come join us on our journey, and be a part of the conversation. Feel free to reach out to us in the chat, community area, or on social media with your science questions, feedback, or anything else!
